Women’s Health Initiative

Kerasawara Women’s Health Initiative

IMG_3820The concept behind the Kerasawara Women’s Health Initiative is pretty simple: it is a ‘train the trainer’ model aimed at raising the traditionally poor level of women’s health and education in Nepal.

During late February 2016, a select group of six Kerasawara women were given training in basic anatomy and physiology, ante-natal, post-natal and obstetric care, gynaecological problems and paediatric first aid.

These women now fill the role of women’s health advocates throughout the area- at once assisting MCHC staff with treatment and education and providing ongoing support for women and young girls in their community.
