Kerasawara Women’s Health Initiative
The concept behind the Kerasawara Women’s Health Initiative is pretty simple: it is a ‘train the trainer’ model aimed at raising the traditionally poor level of women’s health and education in Nepal.
During late February 2016, a select group of six Kerasawara women were given training in basic anatomy and physiology, ante-natal, post-natal and obstetric care, gynaecological problems and paediatric first aid.
These women now fill the role of women’s health advocates throughout the area- at once assisting MCHC staff with treatment and education and providing ongoing support for women and young girls in their community.
It’s revolutionary concept for Kerasawara village that we are at once extremely proud of and that we hope will positively change the lives of generations of women!
