This coming Sunday, a small team of Backpacker Medics Disaster Response Group will be landing in Bangladesh to deliver life-saving healthcare and to perform reconnaissance on the possibility of delivering ongoing care in the Rohingya population fleeing violence and persecution in Myanmar.
The situation on the Bangladesh/Myanmar border is beyond description. Hundreds of thousands of refugees (including a large percentage of women, children and elderly) have been walking for days in harrowing conditions, fighting dehydration, malnutrition, exhaustion, monsoonal rains…and the ever-present fear of being shot as they flee.
These people have literally been running for their lives.
We can no longer stand by and watch this horrible humanitarian crisis unfold- which is why the BPM Disaster Response Group is deploying to the region.
The amazing individuals who make up the BPM Disaster Response Group are all volunteers, gladly putting their own lives on hold and funding their own travel and living expenses.
BUT- they need your help to buy medicines. shelters, food supplies and a myriad of other things that can ease the suffering of the Rohingya people.
If you have even just a few dollars to spare, please donate via the DRG Crowdfunding page: https://chuffed.org/project/bpmdrg-bangladesh
EVERY SINGLE CENT that is donated will go towards helping the DRG complete their mission.
