KAVA KINGS LOGOGet your dancing shoes ready everyone, because we’re putting the FUN back into FUNdraiser! BPM is ecstatic to announce the first of a series of FUNdraisers around the country, kicking off with a rip-roaring night of live music, dancing, prizes and good ‘ol clean FUN on Sunday June 4th atThe Townie in Sydney.

The night will feature four (yep, FOUR!!) unbelievable bands, headlined by Sydney party legends The Kava Kings and Wolfie, and supported by acoustic performances from Jack and Lucia and Dayna James-Gazi

Not only does this promise to be an awesome night filled with fantastic music, you’ll be supporting Backpacker Medics and the work we do! How good is that??

The Kava Kings: Hailing from the South of Sydney, The Kava Kings bring a fresh new sound with their loose mash up of Gypsy, Rock, Reggae and Dub. Within three years, The Kava Kings have been headlining shows all over the country and their highly energetic performances have helped them earn a solid reputation. Amongst these shows they have played with many great International and Australian acts such as Ocean Alley, Caravana Sun, Ozomatli (US), The Beautiful Girls, The Skatalites (JAM), OKA and many more.

Wolfie: is a four piece based in Sydney delivering a high energy mix of Roots, Reggae, Rock and Soul. Beautiful vocals and melodies mixed with in depth song writing makes for a great live experience.

Jack and Lucia: are an acoustic duo who also are the guitarist and singer in the band “A Girl’s A Gun”. Their music is a mix of rock and soul and they deliver it with a huge and beautiful mix of emotion and clarity through stunning vocals and intricate guitar work.

Dayna James-Gazi: is a singer/songwriter in based Sydney. She has studied Classical music and Musical Theatre for the past eleven years and incorporates her vocal training into her eclectic range of music styles, such as Soul, Alternative Pop, Funk, Soft Rock and Folk. In 2014, Dayna won the Australian Songwriting Competition with her original song ‘Cracked Glass Heart’. Some of her musical influences are Matt Corby, Laura Marling, Lianne La Havas, Kimbra and Anne Marie.
