Backpacker Medics are gearing up for another productive year delivering healthcare where it is needed most!
Our founder, Nathan Burns, is ‘steering the ship’ in a very new exciting direction this year. We are extremely fortunate to have had the wonderful Brad Stewart and Anthony Gadenne in Nepal looking for new and exciting locations that the Backpacker Medics volunteers will be working in this year and into the future.
Over the last two weeks Sushant, Brad and Anthony have travelled many kilometres by car, motorcycle and foot to meet villagers who unfortunately don’t have access to basic healthcare. The areas that they have travelled to so far include; Pawai in Solukhumbu, Majhinthok in Gorkha and Nalang in Dhading. They have been welcomed with open arms into villages to engage in discussions about local health concerns and how Backpacker Medics could provide healthcare and education to address those concerns. The trip so far has been successful with several potential locations identified. Along with helping more people, this expansion will provide Backpacker Medics volunteers with a variety of geographical and cultural locations in which to work.
We are extremely excited for this new and dymanic structure to our volunteer trips! Stay tuned for more.
