‘Untouchable’ women in Nepal

Screen Shot 2016-04-09 at 08.01.31A recent news article and short documentary from The Guardian which details the practice of chhaupadi (deeming women as ‘untouchable’ due to menstruation), in Nepal has really caught our attention here at BPM. Although the practice has legally been outlawed, in reality the tradition continues. Needless to say, witnessing practices such as these tear us apart but only reinforce the importance of BPM programmes such as the Women’s Health Initiative.
