Sometimes people ask us why we’re working in Nepal…Here are some startling statistics on Female and Reproductive Health that answers that question pretty comprehensively:

  • Maternal Mortality Ratio*: NEPAL= 190/100,000; AUSTRALIA= 6/100,000
  • Births Attended by Skilled Health Personnel: NEPAL= 36%; AUSTRALIA= 99.1%
  • Antenatal Care Coverage**: NEPAL= 50.1%; AUSTRALIA= 90.4%
